Two advisor teams have departed Stratos Wealth Advisors, the fee-only registered investment advisor owned by Stratos Wealth Holdings, the firm has confirmed.
Holistic Wealth Advisors, led by President and founder Stacy Clifford, launched its own RIA late last year with about $234 million in assets under management, according to an ADV filing. The firm uses LPL Financial, AssetMark and Schwab for custody and LPL for brokerage business.
The firm, based in Clifton Park, N.Y., has five advisors and five support staff and joined Stratos in 2018.
Clifford did not respond to a request for comment prior to publication.
Guardtower Financial Services, a La Jolla, Calif.-based practice, moved its advisory business to LPL’s corporate RIA late last year. The team, whose AUM is unknown, is led by founding partners Richard Gibson Jr. and Daniel Torreblanca. The practice also includes client service associates Juan R. Nevarez and Zach Schuler.
They joined Stratos in 2014 after a stint at Wells Fargo Advisors.
Clifford and Torreblanca did not respond to requests for comment prior to publication. A Stratos spokesman declined to comment.
Stratos Wealth Holdings comprises a handful of RIAs and a limited-purpose broker/dealer. Its three affiliated companies, Stratos Wealth Partners, Stratos Wealth Advisors and Stratos Wealth Management, recruited a combined $3.5 billion in client assets in 2024. The company is minority owned by Emigrant Partners.
