Wells Fargo Team Forms California-Based RIA

A father-son duo has left Wells Fargo to launch their own registered investment advisory firm in Mission Viejo, California.

Ticino Wealth was founded by former Wells advisors Michael Masciorini and his son Jordan. The firm is staying with Wells for clearing and custody services in a move founder Michael Masciorini calls a “structural change,” not a “shift in philosophy or service.”

“This move was about creating the right structure for the future without disrupting what works,” he said. “Our clients didn’t have to open new accounts or learn new systems. Their online access didn’t change. And on our end, we had full support from both local and regional Wells Fargo Advisors leadership throughout the process. That made a big difference.”

Masciorini has been an advisor for over 35 years, including 18 with Wells, according to BrokerCheck. His son, Jordan, joined his practice in 2018, becoming, like his father, a certified retirement counselor with expertise in working with individuals preparing for or living in retirement.

Ticino Wealth clients’ assets will remain with Wells Fargo Clearing Services, but will now use TradePMR for broker/dealer services. The firm is bringing over its roughly $388 million in assets under management.

“TradePMR brings us a much stronger set of tools and resources behind the scenes,” Masciorini said. “From reporting and planning to client communication and efficiency—it’s a big upgrade. But none of that came at the expense of client familiarity, which was a key objective from the beginning.”

TradePMR, which Robinhood owns, has an existing partnership with Wells Fargo for broker/dealer services.

Ivanna Berrio, an operations manager who is also pursuing a CFP, is the third person at the firm. She started working with the Masciorinis in 2020.

The firm was named for the Ticino region of Switzerland, which includes the town of Lavertezzo, where the Masciriorini family has its roots. The city inspired the firm’s branding, logo, and website.
“Our ancestors were goat and sheep herders from that region,” the firm wrote on its website. “We had the unique opportunity of visiting this beautiful place and learning about our heritage.”
